Baba Yaga house
Baba Yaga is a character from Slavic folklore, sometimes described as an evil witch and sometimes a helpful old woman. When not flying around in a wooden mortar wielding a pestle, she lives deep in the forest in a hut with chicken legs.
Made from tactile thick wool fabrics, these Baba Yaga houses are tiny tributes to the power of folk tales and the dual nature of representations of older women.
The houses have legs made from wire and painted paper and will stand on their own two bird feet (carefully adjust leg / foot positioning for balance) on a shelf or mantel.
Their windows are made from silk, embroidered with black vintage thread. The chimneys spout fluffy smoke.
Choose your house from the variations listed by roof colour (grey or black).
