Piers, a little black bear

Piers is a little artist teddy bear, an original one of a kind modflowers design, all hand made from a furry black plush fabric. Piers has tiny black glass eyes. His style is influenced by my love of vintage bears. He has a round face, small ears and long arms, with a pleasingly tubby belly.

Piers wears a grey neck scarf made from part of a vintage prayer flag. This is because he has always harboured a desire to travel to India and Tibet, but unfortunately the furthest he has ever got has been the rather good Indian takeaway in his local high street. He also wears a rusty vintage key on a satin ribbon around his neck, although what this unlocks he will not divulge.

His head, legs and arms are cotter pin jointed and may be gently moved, so he can sit or stand (leaning against something) and turn his head. He will not, however, stand up to rough handling. He is stuffed with reclaimed polyester filling and weighted with tiny steel pellets.

A perfect little decorative companion, Piers will sit or stand (with something to lean against) on a shelf or mantelpiece, to keep you company - or to warm the heart of the one you love.

He measures approximately 15 cm (6 inches) from the top of his head to the tips of his toes.
