Huginn, a black crow
Huginn and Muninn were the names of Norse god Odin's two crow companions. They flew around the world bringing back knowledge. Huginn means "thought".
Huginn is sewn from a variety of reclaimed and vintage black fabrics, including linen, velour and artificial silk. He has a carved wooden beak, glass bead eyes and wired legs, upon which he stands upright without additional support.
Crows are well known for their generosity in rewarding those they approve of with gifts. This particular bird carries a Victorian-style love token: a 1950s vintage barkcloth heart, embellished with glass seed beads, embroidery, vintage lace and a diamanté jewel from a 1920s gown. This fabric heart dangles from a loop of silk-covered fine wire. Huginn will deliver this symbol of love on your behalf - or display his love for you every day from wherever you decide to perch him.
Huginn measures approximately 16 cm (6.25 inches) tall and 22 cm (8.5 inches) from beak to tail.
