Marguerite, a dishcloth bear
Marguerite started life as a strangely fluffy pale blue dishcloth far away in Australia. I discovered these furry cloths at my sister's house during my visit earlier this year and couldn't resist making bears from a couple of them.
An original one of a kind modflowers design, Marguerite is a quite traditional-looking bear, with short legs, long arms and a round head.
Her blouse (not removable) is made from a vintage fabric Suffolk puff, with two antique red glass buttons and she has a Liberty fabric neckerchief.
Marguerite has tiny black glass eyes and her features and claws are hand embroidered with vintage thread. She has deliberately visible stitching on her belly, suggestive of past repairs. She has a definite vintage appearance, as the material from which she is made was not unused in its previous existence as a cleaning cloth (though of course, it has been washed prior to becoming Marguerite). Please don't hold this against her.
She is stuffed with reclaimed polyester cushion filling and weighted with tiny steel pellets to feel pleasant in the hand.
Marguerite would love a home in which she is cherished just as she is, despite her unusual origins.
She measures 18 cm (approximately 7 inches) from the top of her head to the tips of her toes.
modflowers designs are playful, but please note that they are decorations, not toys and as such are designed for display rather than play.
This item is individually made by hand from new, vintage and reclaimed materials and is not suitable for children under 14 years of age, due to small parts and delicate construction. Please keep away from moisture.
